I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in NY and NJ. I am based in Queens, NYC and provide therapy to adults and children ages 10+ anywhere in New York State or New Jersey via video.
I received a bachelor's degree from the University of Chicago, a master's degree from the Yale School of Music, and a Master of Social Work degree from Hunter College. I have worked in community and school-based mental health, app-based mental health, as well as in this private practice. Prior to finding my calling as a therapist, I had a career as a music composer and teacher.
My philosophy as a therapist is rooted in respect for the inherent worth and dignity of each and every person. We were all children once, and I believe that every child is a genius, no matter their developmental stage, grades, cognitive scores, or (dis)abilities. This is because they are naturally inclined to learn from the world (and people) around them. They gain the skills they need to survive and thrive in their environment. Our experiences in adulthood are shaped by our ingenious adaptations for safety, connection, and learning in childhood. If an adaptation no longer serves us, we can acknowledge our resilience. Then we can work toward gaining new habits and ways of thinking that serve us better now and in the future.
